Auction Success for Perry Bishop and Chambers

Created: 13/11/2007

Auctioneers Perry Bishop and Chambers is pleased to announce the successful sale of Longford at Fulbrook, near Burford, sold by auction on Thursday, 8 November.

Acting in conjunction with Wychwoods of Burford, the instructions were received from Solicitors acting for Dr Barnado’s and The National Children’s Home, beneficiaries of the proceeds of sale.

Longford is a 3 bedroom, detached bungalow set in a large plot in the popular village of Fulbrook.  It requires complete modernisation or perhaps redevelopment.

There had been keen interest from both private buyers and commercial builders.  The auction room was packed and the property eventually sold for £402,000 to a building company, a figure in excess of the original guide price.  Auctioneer and Director at Perry Bishop and Chambers, Peter Chambers was delighted with the outcome and commented:

“Once again our policy of advising clients to sell by auction if the circumstances are right has paid off.  We believe that an individual auction sale, at a time and place appropriate for the particular property can best fulfil the needs of our vendor clients.”

Perry Bishop and Chambers is always pleased to discuss the marketing of properties by auction and can be contacted on 01285 655355 or at any of our residential offices.
