First Lady at the Top
Created: 15/02/2010
Local agent, Perry Bishop and Chambers is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Benson (FNAEA CPEA) as a Main Board Director of the company, with effect from 1 January 2010.
Ian Perry, Chairman and Director, commented: “Sarah’s appointment is a reflection of our long held commitment to developing a network of branches owned and managed by directors who have an interest in the overall business and, in particular, are rooted in their local community. Sarah has also acquired a shareholding within the business. In addition, we are in an industry where some 90% of employees are female, so it is not before time that we have a female director.”
Sarah originally started with Perry Bishop and Chambers in 1988 as a Saturday Negotiator in the Faringdon branch and having grown her career, remains with the office as Branch Manager. Born in Lechlade, Sarah has lived in Faringdon for 40 years where she raised her family and has played an active role in the local community, including being the first lady member of Faringdon Rotary Club.
Sarah commented: “I am delighted to join the board of directors. My appointment ensures that we maintain our strong presence in the town and I will continue to take an active role in the day-to-day selling of local properties. In addition, I hope I can bring a new perspective and skills to the board.”
Ian Perry continued: “Sarah has shown great loyalty and commitment to the company and has produced consistently good results from the Faringdon Residential Sales office, which has helped fund our growth.” The Faringdon office has consistently held a dominant market share (c. 60%) in the town and the surrounding area.
Perry Bishop and Chambers is encouraged with the start to 2010, and due to high demand, requires more properties within all price ranges across Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds to satisfy the number of active buyers currently registering with them.
