SALE AGREED ON OAKRIDGE LYNCH!
Perry Bishop and Chambers in Cirencester are delighted to be acting jointly with Adrian Male & Co in the marketing of two former Methodist Churches.
Located in the Cotswolds enjoying an elevated position in the centre of the lovely village of Oakridge Lynch in the Golden Valleys above Stroud is a large, detached former Methodist Church with attached schoolroom, dating from 1874. The property is built of mellow Cotswold stone under a slate part turreted roof, set in its own grounds of approximately 1/5th of an acre. It has a number of lovely feature windows and the former schoolroom is light and airy, and enjoys double aspect over the surrounding hills and valleys.
The building has an overall internal ground floor area of just over 2,000 sq ft, as well as a balcony and former museum room at first floor levels.
The property is being sold by informal tender, with bids being invited to be received by Wednesday 9 April, with a guide price set at £250,000. Although the building does not have planning consent for any alternative use, it is considered that it would be suitable for conversion to an individual detached home, or possibly a pair of properties, subject to planning consent being granted. The building could alternatively be used for a variety of commercial uses, again subject to planning consent being granted.
Peter Chambers, Director of the selling agents says: “We are delighted to have been favoured by the Methodist Church with this instruction and there has already been enormous interest in it from initial advertising and prospective purchasers registered with us. The property has the potential to become a lovely family home in one of the favoured villages in the Golden Valley area”.
Perry Bishop and Chambers have also been favoured with instructions by the Methodist Church to market their redundant Church at Tower Road, Warmley on the south east edge of Bristol.
This is a very large detached Victorian building, having a ground floor area of over 4,000 sq ft in a predominantly residential area of the city. Informal indications from the Planning Office suggest that the building could be divided into flats with communal garden and parking area to the front.
This property will also be offered for sale by informal tender with bids closing later in April, the guide price being £350,000.
Anyone wishing to receive details in respect of either or both of these properties should contact Perry Bishop and Chambers on 01285 655355, chosing option 3.
