You’ll find a choice of great schools both in the public and private sector, including one of the leading comprehensive schools in the country – Balcarras Academy. Cheltenham Bournside School and Pittville School are also popular secondary schools. Highly regarded independent schools include Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Cheltenham College and Dean Close School and there’s a wealth of wonderful primary schools, making Cheltenham a very popular place for bringing up a family.
There’s a John Lewis in the town centre and all the big supermarkets, including Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda, Aldi and Lidl are available.
There is an abundance of fantastic festivals all year round, from regular horseracing meets held at the town’s famous Cheltenham Racecourse, culminating in the Gold Cup at The Festival in March, through to the internationally renowned four main festivals of Jazz, Science, Music and Literature. With Poetry, Food and Drink, Ukulele, Cricket, the popular family Wychwood Festival and even a Wine Festival, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
