What do you love about the area?   Each village has its own character. I love how you can go from quiet countryside to a lively market town in just a few minutes.

Where is the best place to relax in the area?  Cotswold Water Park is the ultimate place to unwind. Whether I’m walking along the lakes, having a picnic by the water, or just sitting with a coffee.

What do you think is the best view in the area?  Coaley Peak has one of the most breathtaking views in the Cotswolds. From the top, you can see the entire Severn Vale stretching out below, all the way to the Forest of Dean and beyond.

How would you spend a ‘perfect day’ in the area?   Starbucks in hand, we’d head to Cotswold Farm Park for animals, play, and family fun.

Where is your favourite pub or restaurant?

A particular favourite is The Red Lion at Wainlodes just on the outskirts of Cheltenham. Great pub food and a fantastic riverside beer garden. Well worth a visit.

What do you love about the area?

I love the events that are on in Cheltenham. There is of course the famous Gold Cup but there are also lots of festivals throughout the year like the Literary Festival, Food & Drink, the Light Festival to name a few. Its great that so much is going on – there is something for everyone.

Where is the best place to relax in the area?

I love nothing more than grabbing a coffee and reading my book whilst watching the world go by. I particularly love O’Haras on St Georges Place. The best coffee in Cheltenham.

What do you think is the best view in the area?

Looking across the lake in Pittville Park towards the Pump Rooms. Doesn’t matter what time of the year it is, it’s beautiful.

How would you spend a ‘perfect day’ in the area?

Going for a walk with my dogs in the surrounding countryside followed by nice food with friends and family.

Where is your favourite pub or restaurant?  A particular favourite is The Eliot Arms in South Cerney. Great food, lots of nooks and crannies to sit in and soak up the gorgeous atmosphere.

What do you love about the area?   I love Cirencester and its vibe… there are so many fabulous independent shops to explore and always something to do and see.

What do you think is the best view in the area?  There are so many to choose from, but Bourton-on-the-Water bridges are so lovely and probably the most iconic sights in the whole of the Cotswolds.

Where is the best place to relax in the area?  I personally love to potter around the fab antique shop in the Market Place, it’s packed with an array of antique jewellery, Art Deco pieces, tea sets…I can lose myself in there for hours.

How would you spend the perfect day?  Meeting my best friends, who can now come and stay with me over a weekend, walking to the pub for Sunday lunch and a good ole girlie catch up, over a glass or two, of vino.

Where is your favourite pub or restaurant ?  The Trout at Tadpole Bridge (between Buckland and Bampton) has always been a great favourite of ours.

What do you love about the area ?  I really love the community in Faringdon – we moved here 22 years ago and in spite of living abroad for 6 years in the middle of that time, we had no hesitation in returning here when my husband retired in 2012 (extra bonus: that’s when I started working at Perry Bishop!)

Where is the best place to relax in the area ?  Either a walk along the River Thames, or Badbury Clump woods in bluebell time.

What do you think is the best view in the area ?  The view from the top of Faringdon Folly Tower – it is said one can see five counties on a clear day!

How would you spend a ‘perfect day’ in the area ?  With friends, on a lovely country walk, possibly stopping at the excellent tea rooms in Buscot or Coleshill on the way home.  Alternatively, having a great time at Faringdon FollyFest in the Market Square, and perhaps dinner at Floyds Grill afterwards.

Where is your favourite pub or restaurant?  For a special meal, At The Chapel in Brimscombe is outstanding, amazing food and a brilliant atmosphere in a beautifully converted chapel. For a relaxed drink, I love Selsley’s The Bell Inn, their gin selection is superb and the views across the valley are classic Stroud.

What do you love about the area?  Stroud is unique, creative, friendly, slightly alternative and surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. We’ve got the Commons, canals, independent shops, brilliant food culture, incredible schools… but still with that laid-back Cotswold feel. It’s a lifestyle as much as a location.

Where is the best place to relax in the area?  A walk over Minchinhampton Common or Selsley Common on a sunny evening is unbeatable, families picnicking, dog walkers everywhere and the views rolling out across the Five Valleys. Proper Stroud.

What do you think is the best view in the area?  Standing at the top of Rodborough Common looking down over Stroud at sunset, watching the valleys fold away towards Nailsworth, that’s the view I always show people when they don’t “get” Stroud yet. Once they see that, they understand exactly why people move here.

How would you spend a ‘perfect day’ in the area?  Breakfast and coffee at one of Stroud’s brilliant independents, a wander around the Farmers Market on a Saturday, lunch in Nailsworth or Painswick, then a walk out across the Common with the family. Finish with a drink at The Crown in Minchinhampton or The Bell Inn at Selsley, that pretty much sums up Stroud at its best.

What do you love about the area?  I love the Market Towns around the area and all the history that they hold – from charming old buildings and the independent shops to local traditions that give each town it own unique character.

Where is the best place to relax in the area?   Westonbirt Arboretum is perfect — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and a lovely place to unwind in nature all year round.

How would you spend a ‘perfect day’ in the area?   Catching up with friends over coffee or lunch at one of the many great pubs or restaurants in the area — there’s always somewhere cosy or full of character to enjoy good food and company.

Where is your favourite pub or restaurant?   One of my most favourite places to go for a nice meal is Nagomi in Cheltenham. I love to go here with a good group of friends and have some lovely tasting food and cocktails, and the atmosphere of this restaurant is beautiful.

What do you love about the area?  I love all the beautiful gardens and green spaces within the area, but I also enjoy the town life that Cheltenham has to offer I am one to love a good shopping day and stroll around this area.

Where is the best place to relax in the area?   Cleeve Hill is an area I love to go to get some exercise and fresh air, lovely to sit and disconnect from the world for a few hours.

What do you think is the best view in the area?   Leckhampton hill & Devils chimney this is a lovely walk with some beautiful views, the sunset here is amazing!

Where is your favourite pub or restaurant?   My favourite pub is The Crown in Cirencester. They do great food and drinks, there’s such a lovely atmosphere and sometimes they have live music! (and a big beer garden!)

What do you love about the area?  I love the community and how safe I feel even when it’s busy. I also love how surrounded by nature we are and the busy marketplace at the weekend (lots of yummy food, and gorgeous clothes and jewellery!).

Where is the best place to relax in the area? My favourite way to relax is by going on a peaceful walk through Hares Bush near the Cricket Club in Cirencester, it’s usually very quiet and there’s lots of different routes to take depending on how long you want to be.

What do you think is the best view in the area? I think the best view in the area has to be at the top of Leckhampton Hill, you can see for miles!

How would you spend a ‘perfect day’ in the area?  My perfect day would probably start with a nice slow morning and going to Toro Lounge for some brunch, then doing some charity shopping in town, having a stroll through the marketplace, and ending with some dinner and drinks with my friends at one of the many pubs around town.

Where is your favourite pub or restaurant?  I’d have to say Gin & Juice on the Promenade, it’s got a great relaxed vibe and atmosphere. If I’m after something a bit fancier, The Ivy in Montpellier is lovely setting for a bite to eat.

What do you love about the area?  Cheltenham’s got this perfect blend of town and country. You’ve got beautiful architecture and a lively calendar of festivals but at the same time, you’re only ever a few minutes from green space or the Cotswold hills.

Where is the best place to relax in the area?  Pittville Park is ideal for a lazy afternoon. It’s peaceful but still close to town, so it’s easy to pop over for a stroll.

What do you think is the best view in the area?  You can’t beat the view from the top of Cleeve Hill. It’s the highest point in the Cotswolds and on a clear day you can see right across to the Malverns and even the Welsh mountains in the distance. It’s especially lovely around sunset.

How would you spend a ‘perfect day’ in the area?  I would head to Lilley Brook or Cotswold Hills Golf Club for a round of golf as both have stunning views. After that, lunch at The Daffodil and then into the evening, I’d unwind with a couple of gin and tonics at Gin & Juice, a perfect way to end the day.

For a special occasion my husband and I love to go to the White Hart in Fyfield. The food is exceptional and it is less than 15 minutes from Faringdon Centre.

What do you love about the area?
Faringdon is very centrally located with easy access to Oxford, Swindon and the motorway links. There is a real sense of community in the town and having lived here for 15 years, I find it an exceptionally warm and friendly place. I also love walking my dog and there is superb countryside right on the door step.

In the summer, we love having family picnics up the Folly or heading over to Badbury Clumps.

  I adore The Close Hotel, whether it is for their fabulous breakfast or a glass of champagne in the garden on a summers day.
• What do you love about the area?
  The beauty – I have lived in many places but the sheer beauty of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire is something to behold. From rolling countryside to honey coloured stone houses, fabulous transport links and quirky events like the Wacky Races in Tetbury or the Boules tournament in the centre of Sheraton.
• Where is the best place to relax in the area?
  My favourite place to go is Westonbirt Arboretum, get back to nature, follow the trails, scuff the leaves in Autumn and breathe!
• What do you think is the best view in the area ? The one that gets me every time is when the Church of St Mary’s is lit up in the evening on a misty night, something a little bit ethereal.
• How would you spend a ‘perfect day’ in the area ? I would begin with breakfast at The Close Hotel, after exploring the shops of Tetbury I would head to Malmesbury to wander along the old walls and the river walk, before picking up a picnic at The Summer Cafe and head into the beautiful Wiltshire villages of Sutton Benger, Grittleton and Burton. Pick up a few things from the Farm Shop in Burton before heading back to Sherston for dinner at The Rattlebone Inn. Right I’m off!

• Where is your favourite pub or restaurant ? My favourite pub is one near to home that I can walk to.   I live in Cheltenham so have the advantage of there being many good restaurants throughout the town, with a variety of different styles of food.

• What do you love about the area ?  Cheltenham and the Cotswolds has a wide variety of recreational and cultural amenities, including all sports, theatres, galleries and festivals, yet you are never far away from beautiful countryside.

• Where is the best place to relax in the area ? I relax at home or with friends, outside there is always somewhere to go, something to do or something to see.

• What do you think is the best view in the area ? For me, the view from Leckhampton Hill, over Charlton Kings and Leckhampton to the whole of Cheltenham and beyond. It is where I was born, grew up and have been fortunate to work in for nearly all of my career.

• How would you spend a ‘perfect day’ in the area ? A perfect day is a probably a game of golf in the early morning and a light lunch to follow, an afternoon in the garden and then a meal with friends in the evening.

• Where is your favourite pub or restaurant ? The White Hart pub in Cricklade do an awesome Sunday carvery – always a treat.  Jicsaw Thai in Cricklade – a really popular place, with lovely friendly staff and fantastic food.
• What do you love about the area ?  Living in Cricklade, we are so lucky to be within easy reach of Cirencester and surrounding villages.  There is always a walk with a pub at the end of it!!
• Where is the best place to relax in the area ?  We love going to the Barn Theatre in Cirencester.  It is a 200 seat theatre converted from a former Nissen hut.  We have seen some incredible shows there – real quality shows with very talented performers.
• What do you think is the best view in the area ?  We are spoilt for choice really.  Around almost every corner, there is either a gorgeous view of countryside, pretty cottages and gardens or some fabulous buildings.
• How would you spend a ‘perfect day’ in your area ?  A walk through North Meadow in Cricklade at Easter to see the spectacular Snakeshead Fritillary and stopping off for a coffee afterwards.  Then after having our carvery lunch at the White Hart, an afternoon in our garden with a good book and a glass of rose.  Perfect.

Where is your favourite pub or restaurant ?
Couldn’t pin you down to one – I would say I adore The Weighbridge between Avening and Nailsworth for it’s famous 2-in-1 pies (half steak and mushroom and half cauliflower cheese with the best pastry top ever!!) I worked there as a teenager when it was the pub to go to- we all used to pile down there and be teenage drunk and disorderly and at Christmas you’d come back from Uni for Xmas break and wouldn’t be able to move in there it was so packed!! Now it’s a bit more of a restaurant -people travel from far and wide for a 2 in 1 but I still have a fierce loyalty to it as do most 40-60 year olds who grew up around the area I’d say.

You can’t beat The Old  Lodge or The Black Horse on Minch Common – very different – Lodge is more upmarket and black horse more of a traditional pub – but the views and sun set from the latter you can’t beat and being up on the common is very special – I spent yesterday at both with a walk in between!

Restaurants in Stroud – I love The Corner House – great food and cocktails – no view but you can kid yourself you’re in Bristol or London -nice atmosphere. And if you want friendly, great food with kids – the Italian Sorrentos every time!!

What do you love about the area?
I like the fact Stroud is a very individual and  independent town. Very eclectic really – everybody muddles along together – it’s very arty – mother earth spiritual types all mixed in with your horsey high society set and your common as muck plebs!!- I don’t think you can write it quite like that but do you get my meaning?!! – anybody goes – North Cotswolds I think can be a bit snooty – not Stroud  it welcomes one and all!! 

Where is the best place to relax in the area?
Well the common in Minch, Selsley or Rodborough on a sunny day or for a walk and a drink ( see question 1) Rococco Gardens in Painswick, Woodchester Mansion for walks. Nailsworth for a meander around the shops and for  coffee and  lunch

From my garden in Selsley West!!! – can’t beat it – tiny cottage but with best view and having worked as an estate agent for 16 years now- haven’t and wouldn’t move as a result!! But there are amazing views in every direction!

All of the above – walking, stopping and drinking in pubs whilst eating and taking in the views – and then perhaps treat myself to an outfit in Honey Trap and a mooch in Tonic, Domestic Science and Woodcock & Cavendish- perhaps finished off with a 2-in-1 Pie!!!!!!

La Passione – good atmosphere with a big round table in the window to enjoy spending time with friends or family.  Delicious traditional Italian food and efficient service.

What do you love about the area?
I’ve lived in Cirencester for most of my life and it’s a great friendly place to live with easy access to the surrounding villages, beautiful countryside and nearby larger towns.  On a sunny Saturday morning the town has a real buzz, especially in the Market Place if there is a local market, and Black Jack Street, which is full of independent shops and cafes and is a favourite both with locals and visitors to the town.

Where is the best place to relax in the area?
We are incredibly lucky to have The Bathurst Estate, or Cirencester Park as it is known, right in the heart of the town. An amazing green space, with lots of tracks, wooded areas and fields where you can wander for miles and escape the hustle and bustle.

What do you think is the best view in the area?
You used to be able to climb the long narrow spiral staircase to the top of the Parish Church for amazing views of the town and surrounding countryside.   Hopefully, they will start these tower tours again soon. A favourite view of mine however is near Down Ampney Church in the Spring. The surrounding fields are quintessentially Cotswold with parkland trees, sheep and lambs – a very peaceful setting.

How would you spend a ‘perfect day’ in the area .

This would have to be on a sunny summer’s day. An early morning walk with my family in the beautiful Cotswold countryside.  We love walks near some of the surrounding villages Barnsley, Bagendon, Winson, Coln Rogers, Poulton to name a few, followed by lunch and then lazing in our garden.   To finish, an early evening bike ride down some of the tracks near the Cotswold Water Park.

I love to visit The Crown in Minchinhampton. It has such a warm cosy atmosphere, and their outdoor seating area is a great place to sit and have a drink, especially during the winter months when the outdoor tent it is covered in fairy lights with heaters and blankets.

It has to be the cows on the common! I love being surrounded by the open countryside and having big highland cows just strolling down the road.

I love to sit on the common and relax whilst drawing, reading, or just taking in the views.

Watching the sunset from either Rodborough Common or Coaley Peak Viewpoint is always a very impressive sight.

The food at the Old Crown Coaching Inn is amazing!  Travelling slightly further afield the White Hart at Fyfield has long been a favourite and never disappoints.

What do you love about the area?
I was born in Lechlade and moved to Faringdon aged 9 and am still here many decades later!  Faringdon is a quirky, unique community with so much to offer and Follyfest, a free festival with live music and fringe events held in July is a must and a great way to meet people.  I love walking into the town at weekends for a coffee and knowing that I will bump into so many people who are happy to stop for a friendly chat.  We are spoilt for choice for country walks from the town too.

Where is the best place to relax in the area?
My garden! (Except when the grass needs mowing!). I love a walk to the woodland around the Folly and to sit on a bench taking in the views or Badbury Hill (National Trust) provides a variety of longer walks and great views..

What do you think is the best view in the area?
We are lucky to have a choice of two – a climb to the top of Faringdon Folly gives such a great view over our historic town but also provides views of five different counties!  Then the view from the Uffington White Horse is an absolute must.  It is breathtaking.

I would start with coffee from one of our independent coffee shops, (and most likely a cake!) before heading out for a walk into the countryside with my camera.
